The Newark, Perth Amboy, and Trenton Civic Trusts have launched Trust-specific Facebook pages to chronicle the progress of the Trusts. The Pages will highlight successes and progress made in the Trusts and will serve as means for city residents to comment on and share the news of the Trust. Pages will be administered by Trustees known as “City Storytellers” who will focus on spreading the word about the Trusts and promoting The Civic Pledge’s principles to their neighbors. With local news organizations shutting down and scaling back their newsrooms, the Pages will try to fill part of the hole left in local reporting with an emphasis on solutions by following a solutions journalism model.
