Newark Civic Trustee Munirah Bomani embodies the principles of The Civic Pledge. A Trustee means you are a leader in your own community and set an example for others to follow. Bomani is celebrating 20 years after incarceration and has made it her life’s mission to helping women who were just released from prison reenter society. She also just launched a new public access show “Freed Women Power Hour’ on channel 19 on Cablevision and channel 28 on FIOS where she shares her experiences while in prison and life afterward.
