Next Tuesday former Governors Tom Kean and Jim Florio will take the Civic Pledge at Liberty House in Jersey City in view of The Statue of Liberty. This exciting announcement emphasizes the appeal and power of The Civic Pledge and its focus on finding solutions to put this country back on track. This bi-partisan show of support is a rarity in modern-day politics infected with name calling and finger pointing at the other side. The Pledge has a demonstrable success with the Civic Trusts in Newark, Perth Amboy, and Trenton where they are on the forefront of the emerging solutions movement. The Governors are just the latest public figures to take the Civic Pledge, along with hundreds of other regular citizens who have answered the civic call. Public figures such as are Rutgers-Newark Chancellor Nancy Cantor, Dr. Rev. DeForest “Buster” Soaries, and RHB Group CEO Ron Beit have taken the Pledge.
