JERSEY CITY PASTORS VISIT NEWARK TRUST FOR GUIDANCE ON LAUNCHING TRUST

Pastors Willie J. Keaton Jr. and Frances Koomson of Claremont-Lafayette United Presbyterian Church in Jersey City attended the Newark Civic Trust Meeting as they work to launch of a Jersey City-based Trust. Having taken the Civic Pledge on The Citizens Campaign’s website, Keaton reached out to learn how he could bring the philosophy of no-blame problem-solving to his community. “Those things struck a chord with me…I started reaching out to people about getting involved in Jersey City and thought this would work great in bringing the people of Jersey City together thinking about solutions, as opposed to blaming, that’s way too common today,” Keaton said. “We learned a lot today about how a Trust is organized and saw the enthusiasm. I hope we take what we learned and are as successful in Jersey City,” Koomson said.
