The solutions movement has expanded to the Plainfield community with an info session on Thursday, October 6th. Plainfield residents and community leaders joined Facilitator Joel Rosa to learn about the Civic Trust model and how to launch one in their community. The session opened with some remarks by Trenton Civic Trustee Darren “Freedom” Green who talked about what it means to be a Trustee, what is expected of Trustees, and the important work that they will be doing as Trustees. Questions, comments and discussions ranged from how the no-blame approach works, how Trustees research solutions and what resources are available to them should they become Trustees. Some of those in attendance pointed out problems in their city, such as gang activity and student truancy, and held preliminary discussions on how to arrive at solutions. Reaction from the attendees was positive and many stated they will attend further meetings. The next meeting is scheduled for the second week of November.
