“If you wanna win, here’s the strategy. You have to communicate with other people. You can’t do anything alone. You have to work together”
Bradley Gonmiah on Power Up Podcast – Bradley: (Un)Selfless Service
METUCHEN, N.J., Jul. 12, 2024 — The Citizens Campaign launched its Power Up Podcast this past Wednesday! Listeners can tune in and hear from everyday citizens who have used No-Blame Leadership training to become leaders bettering their communities. The podcast aims to serve as a platform where interviewees and audience alike can listen and discuss leadership values, the pursuit of evidence-based solutions, and mutual respect for all. Our guests represent a broad range of different political views and partisan affiliations–and are bound to express opinions we don’t necessarily share. They all agree, however, that we must take responsibility for our democracy and are putting that conviction into action.
Bradley: (Un)Selfless Service, the first episode of Power Up Podcast, focuses on values that we learn in our families, in our schools, and in our country, and how these values are reflected, or not, by our government leaders. This episode dives into the need for unselfish service and how feelings of detachment from the plight of others can lead to inaction. Bradley tackles ideas of guilt and urges the audience to “let [guilt] be your first initial impetus to act”.
Bradley Gonmiah’s history with The Citizens Campaign began as a student at West Side High School in Newark, NJ. He attended his first Newark Civic Trust (community of citizens trained in pragmatic, problem-solving) meeting at the invitation of the late, and dearly missed, Wilhelmina Holder. Upon discovering our No-Blame, Leadership training, Bradley powered up and spoke before the Newark School Board where he advocated for the training to be adopted by the Newark Public School District and offered to its students.
Thanks to Bradley’s efforts, every student at Newark public high schools can graduate with a Rutgers University Certificate in Leadership and No-Blame, Problem-Solving.
Power Up Podcast will have weekly episodes with alternating topics. The odd numbered episodes will feature our host, Samantha Castro, with guests who’ve successfully championed solutions using a No-Blame approach. The even numbered episodes will feature Cesar Romero in a Wednesday Wrap-Up. He’ll share news about citizens leading the fight in finding solutions to pressing problems like climate change.
Make sure to tune in every Wednesday for a new episode on Spotify, Apple Podcast, iHeart Radio, and Amazon Music. Contact us at poweruppodcastinfo@gmail.com for any inquiries on how to get involved, schedule an appearance, or any current topics you would like discussed.
